Prime Video Drops the Trailer for Off Campus and It’s Already Getting a Season 2

On April 23, 2026, Prime Video released the official trailer for Off Campus, its upcoming college soap based on the internationally bestselling book series by Elle Kennedy. The series hits the streamer on 13 May 2026 — and the trailer makes it very clear that this is not your standard wholesome campus fare.

Off Campus is adapted from Kennedy’s novel The Deal and introduces fictional Briar University to screens for the first time, eleven years after the book series first published. The setup is simple and effective: hockey protégé Garrett Graham needs to pass a class. Singer-songwriter Hannah Wells needs her longtime crush to notice her. So they make a deal — she tutors him, he fake-dates her. Of course, things get complicated from there. They always do.

“If we’re going to be fake dating there needs to be real kissing,” Garrett tells Hannah in the trailer. Fans of the books are going to feel that one in their chest.

Series regulars include Ella Bright (The Crown, Malory Towers) and Belmont Cameli (Until Dawn, Saved by the Bell) as leads Hannah and Garrett, alongside Mika Abdalla (Sex Appeal), Antonio Cipriano (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Jalen Thomas Brooks (The Pitt), Josh Heuston (Dune: Prophecy, Heartbreak High), and Stephen Kalyn (Gen V). UK viewers will recognize Bright from her work on The Crown and the BBC’s Malory Towers — strong credentials for a lead stepping into one of BookTok’s most beloved roles.

The trailer also gives a glimpse at future couples from the book series — including a quick shot of Dean (Stephen Kalyn) watching Allie (Mika Abdalla) dance, which book fans are already treating as confirmation that the show is playing a long game. Smart.

The series is structured along Bridgerton lines: each season will centre on a different member of the Briar U hockey team and their love interest, working through Elle Kennedy‘s four-book run. The four books — The Deal, The Mistake, The Score, and The Goal — each follow one of the team’s players: Garrett, Logan, Dean, and Tucker.

Co-showrunner Louisa Levy has been clear about the show’s intentions from the beginning. According to Deadline, Levy and co-showrunner Gina Fattore executive produce alongside Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and James Seidman for Temple Hill. Levy told Teen Vogue that honouring the steamy tone of the source material was non-negotiable: “This is a college-age romance.” Not a teenage one. She meant it as a promise.

When the adaptation was first announced in October 2024, Kennedy posted on Instagram: “I have been sitting on this news for what feels like forever, and it’s been SO HARD to not spill the beans!” Alas, the beans have now been fully spilled — and the trailer confirms the wait was worth it.

Off Campus will consist of eight episodes, all dropping at once on Prime Video on May 13. Prime Video has already renewed the series for a second season ahead of its debut — which, for a show that hasn’t aired yet, is either an extremely confident move or a sign that someone in Amazon’s commissioning department has been deep in Elle Kennedy‘s backlist since 2024.

UK subscribers can catch all eight episodes on Prime Video from 13 May 2026 as part of a standard Amazon Prime subscription. For more on the show, check out our earlier coverage over at Brief Ledger.

We’ll keep you posted on updates about Off Campus as the project develops.
